Today I was given something that means more to me than words can capture—my late grandfather’s camera.

My grandfather was a proud WWII Navy veteran, but beyond his service, he was also a man of deep creativity and heart. He had a love for the arts—music, painting, and photography were his passions. Growing up, I always admired not just his strength but also the way he saw beauty in the world and found ways to capture it.

Now, holding this camera in my hands, I feel both honored and humbled. It’s more than just equipment—it’s a piece of his legacy. Along with his handmade paintings and another camera he left behind, these are treasures that connect me to him and keep his memory alive. Every time I pick up this camera or look at his art, I feel closer to him, as though he’s guiding me to see the world the way he once did.

I’m so grateful to be able to continue his story through the lens of the tools he used, and to honor his creative spirit by carrying on with the art he loved. Thank you, Grandpa, for leaving behind not just memories, but inspiration. You’ll always be with me in every photo I take.
