Shortly after I got my very own mirrorless Nikon, we took a trip to Nashville and stayed in the mid-century modern dreamland that is the Fairlane Hotel. I shot these first four in their absolutely stunning lobby (which I could happily live in forever, by the way, if they let me), and the rest were taken while walking around outside the building.

Another post about my bestie 🙈

She took me to the botanical gardens last summer for a photo walk, and I brought my ooooold Canon DSLR. She suggested we trade cameras so I could see how her mirrorless worked, and my mind was blown. I felt like I'd traveled into the future 😂

A couple months later I bought my own mirrorless Nikon, got a Lightroom subscription, and the rest is history.

These were the photos I took with her camera that day.

More from Broken Side at Barrel House. I really liked the contrast of the black and white for most of the photos, but some of them I just had to keep in color. Color LEDs are kind of a nightmare to work on in post to be honest 😂 but these were 100% worth it!
