Yesterday was Earth day, but I believe every day should be Earth Day. (Also, that is a good excuse for being late with this post ;)--lol.) But seriously, I don't remember exactly when my love of nature began. I know my parents instilled an appreciation for nature in me from an early age. As a child, I loved to draw all the different types of birds, and I loved collecting different leaves and flowers and pressing them within the pages of my many books. As an adult, nature became a source of inspiration and comfort, and after I started doing photography professionally, I found true joy and purpose in capturing its ever-changing beauty. Now, in 2026, I find myself living in a world that often seems ruled by greed, consumption, and chaos, but nature continues to provide solace and inspiration. I know some people may never learn to appreciate the glory of a sunrise, or the amazing detail of a butterfly's wing, but here I am, churning out images on almost a daily basis, hoping to somehow encourage the masses to be good stewards of this planet that we call home. And now more than ever we need people to care. As Dr. Seuss once said in his famous book The Lorax: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.”
