I came upon this fawn early this morning during my rambles around Pymatuning Lake. She was munching trees along the shoreline. Speaking of trees--just look at those touches of crimson and gold. The days have been hot lately, but fall will be here before you know it.

In 1832, 16-year-old Frances Maria Buell of Gustavus, Ohio, was murdered by her stepfather, Ira Gardner, after refusing his s3xual advances.
Maria was known far and wide for her "brunette beauty," and her stepfather had developed an "unholy obsession" with her.
Ira Gardner was tried and executed for the crime--Trumbull County Ohio's only public hanging.
My novel is a re-imaging of the story and is the result of several years of historical research, not only about Frances Maria Buell, but also what daily life was like in Ohio's Western Reserve during the 1800s.
