I got a hot stone body scrub, amazing massage, scratch therapy (so relaxing), lash tint, sound bath and a zero gravity massage! Let’s talk- like really talk.

These images are of me by the wildly talented . I ADORE shooting in Hannah’s studio, I’ve been 4 times solo, once with hubby for our wedding and we have done a family shoot with her. Every single time I’ve come in dolled up or had my HMUA done in studio by one of her talented artists. But this shoot, it was different. I love getting in front of the camera for bo***ir, it’s truly my happy place. But recently I’ve had some less than stellar experiences leading up to and even some odd reactions during shoots. In a place that supposed to be safe and inclusive and maybe I just got in my head and freaked my self out before and after some of these but either way, it left me feeling less than stellar about myself. So I reached out to Hannah and said would it be crazy to come in with no HMUA and shoot? And listen I know it’s not crazy, because you, my clients are stunning without all the extra but for myself it seemed scary. And she made it happen. We both said this session had felt so different from the rest, and considering I was the most clothed I’ve ever been in her space, I would agree. But this was also so stripped back and intentional. A gallery curated to highlight the things we tend to want to hide about ourselves. We had good and honest conversation about what would have been criminal to eliminate as it would have defeated the purpose of being there. And although there are many pictures that I would have normally skipped over, I will cherish these as I age. Art that can go on my wall and show my babies to love themselves exactly as they are in the moment. Nothing extra, nothing crazy, just you. Art to show my husband I believe him, even if I don’t always feel it, that I am beautiful as is and with nothing extra. That’s just all bonus. So to the woman who is on the fence, who isn’t feeling her best or has maybe had a poor experience else where. Give someone else a shot. I promise we have all been scared once. And if it’s me you choose to trust, I promise you are safe with me, I have put myself in your shoes and will never let anyone feel the way I have felt in other spaces.

I can’t wait to share so many more from this engagement session.

If I’m being real though, I suck at posting consistently. I don’t love scheduling posts, I’m over Chat rewriting my captions for me and trying to make sure I have all the “key words” to show up. It’s a lot and that’s not how I operate over here.

Simple, clear, relaxed and go with the flow is what you will find with me. Yes there are times we stray from that because we have to but overall, I’m pretty laid back and just want to deliver you beautiful images and a great experience that makes you want to come back.

Going faceless… not for a trend, but for me.

A long thought out decision. Does it make sense when social media is how we find clients? Will people trust me? Do the photos still evoke enough emotion and connection for people to want to still book? Honestly none of that matters to me and that may seem crazy but at the root of this business I have started building, reputation, safety, and honesty is where it all starts. I do not post my children online often and there is no hate to anyone who does. I choose not to. If you know me well enough, you would know my life blew up publicly online about 3 years ago. Terrible things said about me, pictures from 10+ years ago that I thought didn’t exist, found and published. People talking about me like they knew me but they knew me in high school not adult me. My children’s information found and shared publicly in an attempt to come after my ex husband. A HUGE mental burden on me. So with all that goes on in this world and with how heavy life is, I will not be the one to follow the trends to make a bunch of money. But I will do what feels right in my heart and what my business is rooted in. If we have shot together before you have heard “I’ll send you a model release it’s never required” and I truly mean that. If you do not want anything shared it never will be. No one will know we have ever shot together. If there are certain photos you do not want shared, they’ll never be shared. I have heard “we feel bad photographers can’t use this for their portfolio.” My answer is do not feel bad. If we want portfolio work, we will post for models with requirements. A paying client doesn’t equal content in my books. You and your personal decisions are safe here and I stand on that. So this long winded message to say, faceless isn’t a trend over here. It’s a decision I will stand firm in. Your sessions will not change, nothing extra has to be done and you still do not have to share any images, EVER. And none of this is hate or shame to anyone doing it differently, it’s just my point of view.

But in all seriousness, the reason I fall so deeply in love with this work is watching it heal parts of you that you didn’t think could be healed. Watching you step into all the power that is you and take up the damn space. Move freely in your body and love her however she folds and moves that day. To show you EXACTLY how the world sees you. I don’t smooth skin, I don’t reshape you. That annoying pimple yeah she’ll go and bruises only if you ask. But EVERYTHING else stays. Your body is the only thing that has been with you through EVERY DAMN THING. Treat her well. Love her in all her phases because she loves you no matter your phase.

This group shoot was so damn magical. The simplicity of sheets, meets the sparkle of paint and glitter. These women came together as if they’d know each other their whole life and melted into this session.

When I started planning this with Erica I knew I wanted the bo***ir session to be creative and I’ve seen so many gorgeous photos of women painted in gold flakes or sparkles and I needed to create something like that. When I asked her if I could paint her she squealed in excitement but neither of imagined it would be as beautiful of an experience as this was.
