Sessions like these remind me why I do what I do.

What you bring to a session matters more than people realize. Your outfit, your energy, your willingness to be present and authentic all play a huge role in the final result.

I don't just take photos. I create art.

Photography is how I document the beauty, emotion, connection, and stories I see through my lens. My style isn't about stiff poses and perfectly curated moments. It's about creating something that feels cinematic, meaningful, and real.

The right location helps. The right wardrobe helps. But the magic happens when you show up as yourself and trust the process.

Those are the images that become art.

Some of these photos are from one of our very first sessions together, and every time I see them, I'm reminded of how much you have impacted my life.

You were one of my very first portrait clients outside of sports. At a time when I was still finding my way as a photographer, you took a chance on me. Looking back now, I can honestly say that because of your support and belief in me, I am where I am today. That alone is a gift I will always carry with me.

But what you may never fully know is how much bigger your impact became.

Through the years, we talked about so much. We celebrated victories, shared struggles, and walked through difficult seasons together. When I went through one of the hardest times in my life, you were there. You listened, encouraged me, and reminded me I wasn't alone.

What always amazed me was your faith.

After everything you had endured, your faith never wavered. I remember asking her how she remained so faithful through so much suffering. Through our conversations, you helped guide me closer to God when I felt lost.

And it wasn't just something you talked about. You lived it. Even during your portrait sessions, your Bible was never far from reach. Your faith wasn't just part of your life. It was woven into every part of who you are.

You may never realize just how much those conversations meant to me.

God placed you in my life for a reason. When I was lost, you helped guide me back to Him. Because of you, I found my faith. Because of your example, I learned what it looks like to trust God even when life is unimaginably hard.

If you know her, you know her kindness. You know her sweetness. You know her faith. You know her strength.

At just 21 years old, she has made the incredibly brave decision to enter hospice care. After a lifetime of fighting, she has chosen peace. While my heart breaks, I find comfort knowing that her faith has carried her this far and that she will soon be in the arms of her Heavenly Father.

Thank you for believing in me.

Thank you for your friendship.

Thank you for helping me find my way back to God.

I will carry your friendship, your faith, and your example with me for the rest of my life. ❤️ Mav B Grant

Today I had the honor of capturing this couple’s 50th anniversary celebration. It was so special watching them celebrate surrounded by the family and friends they’ve built a life with over the years.

I asked them both how they made a marriage last 50 years and they smiled and said “lots of patience and some forgiveness.” She also told me something that really stuck with me… “it goes by fast.”

Last senior session for the Class of 2026 and I couldn’t have asked for a better family to end it with. So proud of their oldest for graduating and earning a football scholarship to Maryville College.

If you know Keaton, then you know he’s not only an athlete, but also a genuinely good kid. Wishing him nothing but success in this next chapter and all the best in his future endeavors. 🖤🏈

Excited to share that I recently joined on as an associate shooter for a well established photographer here in East Tennessee! 📸

This opportunity has already allowed me to do what I love most while continuing to grow creatively behind the camera. Over the past 2 weeks, I’ve already had the chance to shoot a wedding and a couples session, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead.

One thing I’m really loving about this opportunity is being able to focus more on shooting and creating without constantly having to search for the next client.

I’m not quite ready to announce who I’m working with just yet, but I’ll be sharing more soon. I just wanted to keep everyone updated because this is something I’m genuinely excited and thankful for.

And don’t worry, I am still continuing to take my own clients through LJ’s Lifestyle Photography as well. 🖤
