Today is National Wildlife Day. As wildlife is my favorite photographic subject, it's appropriate that I post in honor of these wonderful, amazing beings. I am continually fascinated and can spend hours watching them. They are wise and funny, compassionate and fierce. This photo is of a young elephant in Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy, Laikipia County, Kenya, taking a mud bath to cool his body, protect himself from insects, and screen his skin from the sun. He is also having a rollicking good time!
