Doing fun things is good, but doing things great is more fun.

Anyone can pop their phone out and snap a few pictures on a trail and call it a day. That’s the "fun" part. I do it all the time!

But waking up at the crack of dawn right after a heavy rain during our wet season, packing heavy gear and hiking miles off-trail through dense rhodo just for the perfect, fleeting light to hit a hidden waterfall that you calculated would be spewing? There is not a single thing like it. Among other scenarios in this hobby.

Don't just coast through the things you love that you enjoy. Push the boundaries, learn the technical details, and chase mastery. Doing things great is where the real fun hides.

Don't get me wrong: relaxing and taking it casual is just fine, too. That's where comfortability starts. But once you tip the edge and push yourself....you'll see.

Yesterday was a great day to watch my kids frolick in a place I hold pretty near and dear anymore. A place that directly contributes to my wellbeing, and the people I'm doing it for smashed into one.

Life is pretty amazing when you are in a solid stride in carrying everything you've been blessed to carry, no matter what that looks like. The in-betweens are ugly but if you don't let them define you in your mind, nothing else matters.

Here's my buddy Sub posing like he's getting paid to on a massive downed tree in front of Mill Springs Falls!

Sub's a Master Angler here in Kentucky, and he spends his time with his family and on the shores of a body of water somewhere casting a line. You should check out his page sometime if you're into fishing and outdoor stuff, he's out at all hours on the grind enjoying the great outdoors and takes the time to share it with us and that's awesome. and I were taking photos while Sub crawled through the driftwood for a cool shot.

This was a good, fun outing and we're all due another one! Let's get to it Bassmaster!

Confidence really just is your own trust in something you know about. Trusting you to trust yourself is tough, so start with simply not engaging when you aren't in the know and listen effectively so you can learn and do it yourself.

Watching yourself succeed builds confidence, so why not be as prepared as you can be to do so?

Check this shot out... A Great Blue Heron with his prize, a tasty catch, he threw it up and flipped it so that when he caught it, it was in position to swallow head first.

Yeah, so like I said: I have a book to write someday. Y'all don't even know the beginning of it. Not a clue. But hey, grind on. And I do only mean creatively. This was a while back so no worries 😅🤣
