Latest photo challenge was “texture.” Here’s some I liked but didn’t submit. What looks not quite as sharp in the sand is water moving or water over the subject. I didn’t think the judges would appreciate that although admittedly what I like seems to fall far from what most strive for. I’m still using my cell phone, looking forward to the upcoming new Apple phone release scheduled this autumn, it’s going to hopefully be an upgrade to what I currently use.

I apologize I haven't been able to share photos here for over a month. I've been traveling for several reasons, plus have had issues with my mobile device posting, editing and then even seeing comments. The clouds in this picture were building quickly, seconds after I took this shot we were completely engulfed flying through a cloud. Seconds after that we cleared it, and the sun was shining again. I have thousands of photos to sort through, edit and delete. I'll do my best to get back on track here within a week. Thanks!

Sometimes it's hard to tell what I capture on the cell phone camera til I get back and upload the pictures. I didn't think was a good picture but so glad I didn't delete it on the spot!

After my run tonight, I went back to a spot to check if there were any sharks swimming. There were several nurse shark (pups?) in the water. It's easy to identify when they are there, watch the ripples in this video. The way they swim makes more of an oblong, or slightly rectangular wave. I have been seeing them every night lately in an area I rarely saw them pre-Irma.

Oh such fun in the shelter on Sunday and today! There were THREE new kitties... Dorito, Cambria and Weasley. Weasley is Cambria's kitten; he wasn't going to go into catio because he's small, but that decision was rethought and he was placed into catio, which I think helped Cambria (mommy) quite a bit. He was adopted out today! Also, Dorito already has been adopted out between me meeting her on Sunday and arriving this morning. I knew Weasly wouldn't last long in the shelter... a very nice lady fell in love with him and today was his day! Cambria (his mom) will be ok I think. Weasley was more attached to Cambria than Cambria was to him... I think she was trying to push him out of the nest. They love each other, but she did not get adopted today. I asked about Della, the duck, as I haven't seen her the last few times I've volunteered. She's doing great and with her foster as well. Looks like Braveheart will be adopted by the time I get back up there for my next volunteer day, I heard a family was chosen from the applications submitted. Today I transported a cat someone had trapped (the kitty was dumped at her house, an all-too-often repeated story) and he was neutered, no more freaks from him, lol. It was a rainy day at the shelter today, but thankfully no huge deluges causing an uproar in catio. I took a ton of photos of Weasley today, I became attached to him so fast, but I feel so much better having met the person who adopted him. It was fun to have a kitten in catio for a few days, the energy was really different. It's always the best day ever when an animal gets adopted. Whopper had a hard time with Dorito. Dorito was very scared, and took over Whopper's tower. Then Mr. Grey took over Whopper's corner (her second choice spot of refuge) and as you will see from photos she was not amused. Mr. Grey wants friends, and he's working hard to find his tribe, Whopper is definitely not it haha. I think that wraps up my shelter shenanigans til next time. Remember... adopt, don't shop! Although it's not even Memorial Day, the weather tells me Spring is over, and it's Summer. We've been having fast moving storms, evening thunderheads, squalls, offshore heat lightning many evenings (what a show when that happens), hot days, rainbows, shelf clouds, bright skies and whatever else Mother Nature feels like tossing our way. Yesterday was another day where it seemed like we had all that and more. Mostly I took a series of sunset photos but there's a few others mixed in for you here as well.

Summertime is when the skies typically go crazy, but no doubt about it last few days have been striking! Sharks too! All...
