Looking to hire some one to capture your proposal? I’m your girl!

This one was so special. Lindsey and I worked together during our target days almost a decade ago 😅. She had mentioned she was interested in hiring me for the wedding, so Nathan called and asked me to help him plan a surprise proposal. We tossed around some ideas and eventually settled on offering her a free shoot for Mother’s Day. We took a few family photos and then the trap was set 😂

You don’t need to prepare for photo shoots in the way that you typically think. Yes, picking coordinating outfits and having everyone looking presentable is important, but you can’t prepare for everything. You can’t prepare for when kids just outright refuse to cooperate. Whether it’s nerves, they refused a nap and now they’re tired, or they have something deeper going on. Some things are just out of your control.

What do I do to help? We take it slow. We’re patient. I snap pictures while you try to calm them and we catch moments like these. They’re real. They’re precious.

They may not be what you imagined, but sometimes they’re even better.

We did announcement photos during my highland kissing booth minis and I was so excited when Abigail asked me to do maternity photos for them. There’s nothing better than being invited back to document another event in your life 🥰
