Kristin Norell has been an important part of The Children’s Reading Foundation of the Mid-Columbia, and as she prepares to hand the reins to a new leader, she’s also stepping into an exciting new chapter of her own.

It was a pleasure having Kristin in front of my camera, and I’m wishing her all the best in whatever comes next!

I've known John Henker of Henker Financial Partners LLC for a few years. We met as volunteers of Wishing Star Foundation and I've enjoyed every interaction since. What a great group of people, I enjoyed helping them to update their professional headshots!

I recently had the opportunity to do Jessie's business portrait and learned more about her business. She owns Wild Olives Charcuterie Kingdom (https://www.wildolivesck.com/) and when I tell you my mouth watered just scrolling down her website, I'm not kidding. There's a plate called "Share" and if I'm being 100% honest, I absolutely would not share it with anyone. I really hope someone in a windowless white van doesn't drive up and offer that plate to me, I'd probably hop right in. Anyway, Jessie is a fantastic person and it was a real pleasure to meet another cheese lover!

"Tidal Imprint" received a merit from both the PPW (state) and PPA (national). I took this one a few years back during my first trip to Alaska. We took a small plane to Lake Clark National Preserve and flew over the mud flats, there were endless opportunities to create abstract art. Alaska is one of the most incredible places in the world, I don't think I can go a full day without thinking about my time there.

"Rainier's Song" scored well at the print competition for the Professional Photographers of Washington and received a merit. I LOVE Rainier National Park, there are trails all over the park that offer a rewarding experience. When we went in August of last year, the huckleberries were ripe and the views were incredible!

"Winter Lookout" received a merit at both the state (PPW) and national (PPA) photography organization. I found this little fluff perched atop a tree at Denali National Park in Alaska. The first time we went to the park, it was full of sunlight and fall colors. A few days later, it looked and felt like winter had begun to arrive.

"Beauty and the Be**er" received a merit from the Professional Photographers of Washington during their annual print competition earlier this year. I took this one at the Country Mercantile in Pasco during the first year of their tulip festival. I love that we can see the Cable Bridge poking up in the background.

Over the next few days, I'll share some of my competition images. 'Three's Company' competed at the state and national level receiving a merit. I made this image while in Taiwan last year, we went to Taroko National Park and the macaques were running wild around the temples. I could have photographed them all day, they were so fun to watch!
