Savannah Sparrows never stop chirping. They abruptly dart to and fro across the plains and river flats here on the Kenai Peninsula along side the rivers. Found in the tall grass, using small sticks and old stumps for perches

This Young Bull Moose found alongside the highways of Alaska will have a short summer before having to prove himself worthy to mate. Risk of injury from challengers, he better keep eating to gain his strength - amazing something so large eats grass and bark

She made quick work of escorting these two away. She popped out of the woods and in another 20 - 30 seconds, she was gone. This was one of the only photos I was able to get of all three of them!

Arctic Ground Squirrel (Spermophilus parryii)

Did you know these little guys live 8 - 10 years? I don't know why, but that surprised me. That's a long time in the wild for something so small with so many predators.
..and, look at the mosquitoes... I feel you little buddy.
