The view is always worth the dust. 🏜️✨

​It’s easy to get caught up in the routine, the screens, and the comfort of four walls. But nothing resets the mind quite like wide-open horizons and a sky full of stars. Out here, there’s no Wi-Fi, no notifications, and no noise—just room to breathe and remember what actually matters.

​If you’ve been waiting for a sign to pack up the rig, leave the pavement behind, and find some dirt… this is it. Go find your middle of nowhere. 🗺️⛺️

In this Friday’s YouTube episode we continue our 2026 Southwest Overlanding Road Trip with an adventure to Nevada's incredible Lunar Crater! 🌋

Our journey starts by exploring several volcanic craters before making our way to the perfect campsite right on the rim of Lunar Crater. The views were absolutely unreal...

After settling in, we kicked back with a few cold beers and watched the sun sink below the Nevada desert horizon.

As night fell, it was time for steak bites and potatoes, followed by an evening around our Howl Campfire under some of the darkest skies in Nevada. The stars put on an incredible show, and we even witnessed a few things in the sky that left us scratching our heads.

We wrapped up the night in our Kali King Rooftop Tent and woke up to a slow desert morning. Breakfast quesadillas, fresh coffee, and some incredible views made for the perfect start to the day. Before heading out, we shared the fascinating story of how Lunar Crater was formed along with some interesting history about this unique volcanic landscape.

Then it was time to pack up and continue our Southwest adventure to the next destination!

Part of overlanding is remembering that we are just visitors in these spaces. 🌵

​We set up camp at an epic spot at Lunar Crater, Nevada when we spotted a healthy-sized rattlesnake tucked into the rocks of the fire pit.

Since he clearly had standard squatter's rights and a bit of an attitude, we decided to break camp and relocate a few miles down the track.

​It was a solid reminder to always check your boots, look before you step, and respect the desert locals. 🌌🦂

Welcome to the very first episode of our 2026 “Overlanding the Southwest” series! 🌵🚙

Our adventure starts in the middle of Central Nevada at a remote hot spring camp surrounded by wide open desert views… but we quickly realized we weren’t alone out there. Throughout the evening, wild donkeys wandered through camp, and even a group of wild horses stopped by to hang out with us.

We spent the night soaking in the peaceful desert atmosphere, cooking up delicious Philly cheesesteaks, relaxing with a couple of cold beers, and watching one incredible Nevada sunset light up the sky. Then at 3AM, a few curious donkeys came walking right through camp to say hello before we settled back in for a quiet night under the stars.

The next morning, we woke up to fresh coffee, breakfast, and a group of antelope visiting the hillsides around camp before packing up and heading toward our next destination in the Southwest.

This is just the beginning of our 2026 overlanding journey, and we’re excited to bring you along for every mile, campsite, and adventure ahead.
