I’ve been very quiet around here lately, and I wanted to take a moment to tell you why.
Three weeks ago, my dad passed away.
I’ve tried several times to share this post, but every attempt has ended with tears and trashing everything I’ve written.
Grief is strange. The world keeps moving at its usual speed while you feel like you’re walking through mud with both hands tied behind your back.
And I’ll be honest…that’s a little bit what life has felt like lately.
I am working. I promise. ❤️
I’m editing, answering messages, keeping up with what I can, and slowly working my way through everything that was waiting for me while our family was focused on Dad’s final days and the aftermath that follows a death.
I am just moving more slowly than usual.
There are galleries that are taking me longer to finish. Emails that may take me a little longer to answer. Things on my to-do list that would normally be done in a day or two that have somehow been sitting there for weeks.
I’m doing my best.
And I’m learning that, right now, my best simply looks different.
I want to say thank you to my clients—especially those who have been so incredibly patient and understanding while my family has been going through this. Your grace has meant more than you probably realize.
Photography has always been about more than simply creating pretty pictures for me. It’s about people. Families. The little pieces of life that become priceless when someone is gone.
Losing Dad has made that feel even more true.
So I’m easing my way back in.
I have lots of beautiful galleries to finish, messages to answer, and yes…fall sessions to get on the calendar. 🍂
I’ll be sharing my fall availability very soon.
But for now…thank you for giving me a little grace while I find my footing again.
I’m still here. Still taking it one day at a time. ❤️ - E
