This kid. What can I say?! She is a bonus kid of mine. You know those friends you meet and just connect with - like you have known them your whole life. Well, when they have daughters, you get bonus kids! And Lily is one of mine! I adore the Fryar Family and will always be thankful volleyball brought them into our life - at just the right time! Now our daughters are friends and when all when the 6 O'Shay and Fryar ladies get together we have SO much fun -- thankful we have not been kicked out of a Mexican restaurant...yet!

Back in the classroom with Junior Achievement at Jenks Elementary! Partnering with our community and supporting education and our amazing teachers are key values of ours at Maureen O'Shay Photography and we will help anyway we can!

Studio shoot day today. This one was different. Client found me on Google - so no personal referral or connection. She was looking for a "professional headshot or two" when she booked so with our smallest collection which includes pro makeup and 2 headshots. Seemed like the right fit.

But what comes with our sessions is an unexpected boost in confidence. Sometimes it even surprises me, too! What was originally seen as "one more thing on my to do list" for my clients, turns into way more than that: My clients really feel as beautiful and confident as they look. And they SEE it, too.

So often we look at ourselves so critically. Every once and awhile we need someone to remind us how great we are. My team and I are happy to do that!

At the end of the session, she said: "You did good, Maureen." And gave me a hug. My enneagram 8 heart was full!

What was originally a "to do task" turned into a wonderful afternoon, a portfolio of images for my client, and for me, a reminder of why we do what we do.

Running your own business has its ups and downs. Today, we had a big up! And I am thankful for that.
