Why it’s so hard to curate a gallery & my tips to improve your skills!

1. PROBLEM: Your timeline is down to the minute. First look with dad followed by private vows right after then right into the bridal party photos. All of a sudden, you’re five minutes behind and everything is thrown off. Now we have to push bridal party photos to after the ceremony. There wasn’t enough buffer time.
SOLUTON: make sure to build 10-15 minutes of buffer time into EVERYTHING! So if a grandma sue arrives early wanting to chat as your otw to your private vows, you’ll have the time.

2. PROBLEM: It’s your wedding day - a beautiful spring morning & you were planning on having your ceremony outside. You open the window to see… a torrential downpour. The venue chose isn’t big enough to move the ceremony inside. Let alone the golden hour sunset photos you wanted!
Solution: Add a rain backup plan into the timeline. Sometimes the most beautiful Pinterest worthy pictures are running around in the rain. Mother Nature waits on no one. Choose a venue that you like the aesthetic not only on the outside, but the inside too (just in case😉)

3. PROBLEM: You and your fiance have BIG families. You know you don’t need individuals with everyone, but you will need group shots with both sides. The time has come when family photos are a go and you grandparents are missing, dad has made a beeline for the open bar and the clock is ticking.
SOLUTION: make a shot list ahead of time, assign someone to gather family members and allow at LEAST 20-30 minutes for family photos depending on group size.

4. PROBLEM: You booked a 6 hour day with your photographer. You want the special moments captured but later on also decide that you want a first look, full bridal party photos, sunset portraits, and a grand exit. You shrug it off and think “eh we’ll be able to fit it all in throughout 6 hours surely.” Your day finally arrives and it’s time for you photographer to wrap up at the end of their time with you. The issue is, we haven’t even hit speeches and it’s already time for them to leave.
SOLUTION: Either prioritize what matters MOST to you and build your coverage around that or add on additional hours instead of trying to fit an entire 12 hour wedding
