From many years ago, I got to witness this amazing clash of two big bull elk.

Dad filmed while I snapped away with my camera. The sounds of their antlers locking and banging together was magical and brutal.

This brown colored black bear was wandering along Highway 191 in the stretch that passes through Yellowstone National Park.

These two light meters are the same model. The difference is the one with the white face was made and sold in England while the other was made and sold in the USA. Both date to the mid 1900s around the 40s and 50s.

A nice quiet walk on a beautiful path in the Redwoods.

A female wolf was scavenging the remains of a dead elk along the Gardner River in Yellowstone. How do I know she was a female? She got close enough to me while taking a drink from the river that you could see her enlarged ripples where her pups had been feeding. She was beautiful and it was an amazing opportunity to watch as she fed and drank.

I was able to capture an amazing series of photos as well.

A little longer video. Watch the interplay of a sow black bear and her two young cubs. Playing, rolling, climbing, and mom trying to clean them all at the same time. Seeing this in the wild is a special thing, but don't get too close. Be respectful of the animals space to avoid injury to them and yourself.

Don't be afraid to change your view or process. It may lead nowhere but then again it may inspire new ideas and directions never considered before.

Watching an elk bugle in the fall is a special moment. This was along the Madison River in Yellowstone many years ago. The sound is both eerie and magical in the early morning mist, and if you allow it to happen, you make a special connection to the natural rhythms of the world.

I have been going through my bird photos to identify and add to my life list. These are photos of the originals images used in my app Merlin Bird ID to help figure our what I have seen.

If you dont know, a life list is the collection of all the various avian species witnessed and documented during one's life.

Thanks to Mom and Dad for introducing me to such a rewarding and peaceful pastime.
