Had a amazing time at Gull Farms doing a fun take on fashion, community and support from these beautiful ladies. Fully appreciative of the invite to take pictures and get pictures taken of. A step out my comfort zone for sure! I’m happy we got to have fun with my camera and get a handful of takes :) nothing beat the iPhone now and days either ❤️

Thank you to for the opportunity of discussing my work ”The Fool” as a member during a guided tour of The West Michigan Area Show 2025. I was enamored with complements of my creativity of expression through a vulnerable journey. As this show closes in September, I am more then grateful for the opportunity and am excited for the next path through my relationship and work with the institute.

Being selected for the West Michigan Area Show has been a deeply personal milestone for me. “The Fool” represents the courage it takes to leap into the unknown—to create without a safety net, to express truth without apology, and to grow through vulnerability. It’s a reflection of my own journey as a Black woman, a fine art photographer, and a storyteller learning to trust her vision in spaces where our voices have too often been overlooked.

This image holds layers of emotion, chaos, and clarity. It’s about the moment before the breakthrough—the moment where belief must outweigh fear. And that’s not just my story, it’s the story of so many artists of color navigating the fine art world.

Let’s advocate for Black fine art photographers by ensuring we receive the representation and recognition we rightfully deserve. Our perspectives are not only valid—they are vital. Celebrating Progress! Every room I’ve stepped into lately reminds me of two things:
1️⃣ I deserve to be here.
2️⃣ imposter syndrome doesn’t disappear—it just gets quieter when you keep showing up.

representing myself as an artist in spaces I used to only dream of is a blessing I don’t take lightly. I’ve learned to honor the process, speak my name with confidence, and let my work introduce me before I even say a word.

to anyone second-guessing themselves: don’t let fear sit in your seat. that’s your spot.
