Recently I learned that this beautiful kupuna of Kāneʻohe has transitioned back to Spirit 🌈✨
104 years young, sharp in mind 🧠💫, joyful in heart 💖, and absolutely unforgettable 🌺
I had the blessing 🙏🏽 of meeting her on August 14, 2024 (when she was 102) while documenting blessing her ʻohanaʻs building 🏡🌿. In just a few precious minutes ⏳💞, she shared stories of growing up here in the islands 🌊🌴—stories filled with warmth 🔥, wisdom 📜, and so much JOY 😄✨.
She was kind 🤍, playful 😆, and simply adorable 🥰.
Both Lāhela and I feel incredibly grateful 🙌🏽 to have crossed paths with her, even for that brief moment in time 💫
May this be a gentle reminder 🌬️ to truly be present 🌈 with one another—whether it’s someone we’ve known our whole lives 👵🏽👴🏽 or someone we’ve just met 🤝✨.
Sometimes we’re gifted only a few minutes ⏱️, sometimes a lifetime ♾️… but what matters most is the love 💕, attention💛, and aloha 🌺 we bring into each moment.
