Working with Leah at Element is such a delight. ☀️✨ Her unique, bright aesthetic is instantly inviting, and the beauty she brings to this community cultivates a warm space to peruse in the chilly of winter. Her home decor shop and art gallery is filled with thoughtfully curated goods, support for over 20 local artists & jewelry makers, custom furniture and pillows, and amazing trinkets. We even had the chance to try our hand at one of her encaustic painting workshop (combining wax and resin). A must-stop if you’re visiting Wallowa County 🤍

(Part 2) Back from a fortunate stretch of slow, sunlit days drifting down the Snake River with Minam Store to join as photographer on one of their Food & Wine trips.

We fished in the golden hours, casting for carpy beasts that of all the enticing options, went crazy for mulberries. Some other pretty fishies popped up for a hello as well.

The canyon views were warm and craggy, with a predictable moon each night reaching over the tippy tops only to quickly disappear again. We were lucky to spend the days trying creative treats with the company of interesting folks from all over the states.

My darlin spent his younger years fishing this river and delivering supplies to remote camps - he survived his first Class IV rapid in a little Tahiti while his Dad laughed at his near survival. The old fruit trees he used to pick apples and pears were still producing, but the river health was not recognizable - to put it simply the Snake River needs a hug.

But! The best part: slow time with my sweetheart, watching shadows stretch across the water, with nothing to hurry about. Thanks for helping to create experiences of wonder such as these.

There’s a place called The Barn in Sisters, and I swear it has its own heartbeat. Watching the big dream of dear friends grow into a thriving, beautiful community space has been such a gift—it’s like getting to cheer for someone you love, every time you drive by.

Visiting always feels like coming home, and it’s obvious that the thoughts are mutual with many. Belly laughs with my creative, stylin’ sister make for the kind of joy that bubbles up and spills over.
Thank you for capturing my frog 🐸 butt in the last pic 😍 And this amazing fam for showing the world that community is everything.
Along with fantastic pizza 🍕

A and I took these photographs after growing our long hair for two years.

With the beautiful eye of we captured how I’m weaved to this sweet and courageous girl, and her to mama.

Last week, we chopped it all off and added a little fire pink in our hair in time for Valentine’s day. We feel so light we could float to the clouds 🪽

Some folks might say it’s just hair, but to me, these photographs of moment when A wanted to do things alike or complementary are so precious, and I'm soaking them up while they last. Cool mom, even if only for these younger years, will forever and ever be my proudest homage.

The Wallowa Union Railroad is 63 miles long and connects Elgin in Union County with Joseph in Wallowa County. The dormant railroad uses the pathways of the Wallowa River, with excellent sections of mountain vistas, adorable countryside and wildlife viewing. I was so excited for a chance to photograph the Joseph Branch Railriders on their fun railcarts to experience a unique glimpse into the area of the world that has my heart, with a fun group of local and visiting folks. The Ritchie Family continues to grow their operation out of , and in town, with more opportunities to ride the rails, stock up on fly fishing gear, grab a bite at their food cart with riverfront picnicking, and memorable river floats.
