So much heartache in the news. So much trouble in the world.
I have found that giving the Lord the burdens that only His shoulders can carry releases me to find joy in the small things.
There is peace in cultivating the presence of God through prayer and gratitude.
This lovely Dahlia that my sweet daughter-in-law Jordan brought me has helped me in this process. Photographing the stunning detail of this little flower was a true gift to my soul.

Let Him have the heavy things. He wants to exchange burdens with you. His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

I admit I am quite smitten with the beauty at our pool garden. We wanted to revive the pool this year but we had so many other things to pay for. Instead we sowed some beauty. The butterflies and birds are also very pleased with our choice.

Today is your birthday Annie Bug. It just seems like yesterday that you were bounding out of the car after church to find “Mr. Froggy” in the drain pipe. He was almost as big as you were as you held him high like a trophy. We could always find you meandering through the yard, thinking deep thoughts or exploring whatever wildlife you could find. You were never afraid of anything. You had a quiet confidence about you from birth that drew others in. You were always surrounded by friends and laughter, as you planned one gathering after another. We always said you could be president if you wanted to be. I guess you didn’t want that.❤️ We are so grateful for our Annie- so glad you were born.

Happiest of birthdays to the our firstborn ❤️. When you were born I fussed at the nurses to “give me my baby!”. You were only here a few seconds but that was too long to not be able to hold you. I know I am fiercely protective even after all these years but honestly, God put that in me. 🤷‍♀️. We love you so much Katie Girl.
