It was truly a joy working with these 12 outstanding young gentlemen and young ladies. Over the course of several months, I had the privilege of witnessing their growth through a special leadership and development program.

Each of these scholars — Alani, Iason, Jordan, Katelyn, Kamari, Kennadee, Keri, Kerrington, Laila, Marlena, Maurice, and Trudy — demonstrated brilliance, resilience, talent, and positivity every step of the way. I hope each student leader was inspired by our unique brand of pageantry and leaves this experience stronger, more confident, and better because of their participation.

Mr. Kuronde Washington is in his 12th year as Director of Bands at William M. Raines Senior High School (Raines). To date he is the 2nd longest serving band director in the history of Raines. Since his arrival to Raines he has worked to build quality musicians - doing so with no direct middle school feeder program. A Native of Daytona Beach, Florida Mr. Washington holds a B.S. in Music Education from Bethune Cookman University an M.M.E. in Music Education from Liberty University and he is currently pursuing his doctorial degree.
