Things to know if you want a photo session at The Cu**er Museum of Art & Garden🌿📸 (for photographers and those looking to have a session here)

I’m here pretty often, and a lot of time as I’m walking in, I see a photographer shows up with a camera and a client, and they get turned away. It makes me sad so don’t let that be you. I know they had the vision and now have to find an alternative.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. Cu**er Museum requires a photography permit, and if you don’t have one, they will turn you away. They see a couple and a third person with a camera, they know what’s going on, even if it’s “your friend.”

This isn’t unique just Cu**er — always check if a location requires a permit before you book a session there.

2. The permit cost at Cu**er Museum is $300 (as of August 1 — it was $250 before that).

3. Available session times:
Thursdays: 11:15 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays: 11:15 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sundays: 12:15 p.m. – 4 p.m.
These times are subject to change, as with anything else!

4. The permit covers the gardens only, for 90 minutes. Photography inside the museum is not allowed.

5. Apply at least 2 weeks in advance.

6. No mini sessions. One permit = one session, one group. That’s it.

7. Questions? Email [email protected]. There’s a wonderful coordinator who handles all of this, but I’m not posting her direct info here — let’s not flood her inbox. Go through the general email and you’ll be taken care of.

I personally love photographing at spots that require permits because you know you’ll be able to give your clients a great experience with beautiful grounds and no crowds. I’d rather deal with a little extra paperwork than shoot in a garden with five other photographers in my frame. ♥️
