It's been a long, wild 8 months this last year.
Starting the trail in March while still fully employed . . . to leave the trail and quit my job . . . to jump ahead on the trail to hopefully make it to Maine on time . . . To summit Mt. Katahdin on October 15 . . . To jump back down south and hike 400 more miles north entirely alone with the southbounders dwindling in the freezing cold and prime hunting season . . . And knee deep leaves freaking everywhere . . .
I couldn't keep up with instagram as I didn't want to post exactly where I was and my phone absolutely sucks 99% of the time even off trail. It just got to be too much to try and update all the things in the moment.. I'll have to fill in the blanks over the next few weeks. BUT
Sunday, March 21 to Wednesday, November 24 Mona Leafa officially became a thru- hiker and a Virginia Triple Crowner with my 3 part finish.
Mcafee K**b was beautiful yesterday morning at about 17 degrees (if that). Dragons Tooth was awesome to finally cross off the day before and I got to meet a future AT thru-hiker who will be starting his journey next March. Thanks for being a part of my final stretch Daniel!
Tinker Cliffs never disappoints either! I forgot to take a photo while I was at the cliffs with the view as I was talking to folks. So, the next best thing was the last cliff before I jumped off the AT and where I hung out in the shade back in June to get some relief from the summer heat.
Goodbye, AT. It is a weird feeling, but it is time to snuggle my Meatball and Melvin.
Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll!
