wedding season is almost here brides, so let’s talk about a few things you’ll be SO glad you did before your big day. 🤍
as a couples photographer and someone who’s been a bride myself, here are a few tips:
1. get comfortable saying no. your wedding should feel like your day, not everyone else’s.
2. do your hair + makeup trial. whether you’re doing it yourself or hiring a pro, test everything beforehand. no surprises on wedding day!
3. steam your dress + veil. have everything steamed within the week before so you’re not stressing over wrinkles.
4. have a timeline. your photographer and/or planner can help create one that gives you plenty of time for everything.
5. hire a photographer you trust. love their work, but make sure you also feel comfortable with the person capturing your day.
6. build in extra time. something will probably run late. Give yourself some breathing room so small delays don’t become stressful.
7. have your details ready. rings, invitations, perfume, jewelry, shoes, heirlooms, etc. Keep them together for your photographer!
8. eat + drink water. seriously, don’t spend your wedding day running on nerves and champagne. 😂
9. make time for just the two of you. step away for a few minutes, take a breath, and soak it all in.
most importantly, don’t let the little things keep you from enjoying the day. the flowers fade, the cake gets eaten, but the marriage is what matters most. 🤍
