I spent over five years working for a nonprofit as a fundraiser. There is no truer statement than this: passionate volunteers are critical to the success of an organization’s mission!

I had the great privilege of producing a video for The Children's TherAplay Foundation’s Hoe-Down fundraiser, where they honored their Volunteer of the Year. It was truly inspiring to see the dedication and passion of the volunteers who make such a significant impact on the lives of the children and families served by the foundation. Their commitment and hard work are the backbone of the organization’s success, and it was an honor to help showcase their incredible contributions.

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!

Shooting video at night can sometimes be difficult. Lighting can be difficult so it was a great experience to capture a video of the fireworks on Sweetwater Lake. This was also the first time I was able to shoot at a high frame rate, which allowed for the super slow-motion clips you see towards the middle of the video.

Last night, I wanted to test out the new camera’s capabilities with lower lighting. This was a point-and-shoot opportunity, with no shot list in mind. Just an opportunity to film my family on a beautiful evening outside in Midtown Carmel!

Happy Friday everyone!

Last May was the first true example of work that I shared on my personal social media channel. I wanted to record a video of Midtown Carmel and practice certain styles of shots + work on my editing capabilities. Fun(ny) Facts:

1. This was entirely shot on an iPhone 14 Pro using a camera stabilizer to smooth out the footage. 📱

2. The first 2 seconds of the video were supposed to be recorded as a slow-motion clip but I accidentally recorded in timelapse mode. To make something out of nothing, I sped up the video to give it an effect

3. 0:10 - During editing, I didn't like how the video looked normally, so I reversed the footage to reveal the girl was riding a bike. (Look at the far right and notice the people are walking backward 😁)

4. 0:54 - the floating spot that comes on screen was real footage, no post-editing was done

Welcome to my new business page. For those of you who may not know me, my name is Kyle Davern. I am embarking on a new journey offering photo and video solutions for your business. My interest in this area goes back to high school when my friends and I would make sledding videos when school was closed. We recorded using my mom’s camera and I would do all of the editing myself. I dabbled in photography as a hobby for years, purchasing a beginner camera right after my daughter was born. As advancements in smartphone camera technology became available, video started to allow me to test my creative skills. These tools laid the foundation for me to research higher-quality gear and make the leap to start this business.

I have a degree in marketing and have a diverse background in sales, marketing, fundraising, and project management. I have gained many skills in my career that help ensure I deliver for you and your business. As far as the services that I will offer, the possibilities are endless. Whether you need to introduce your organization to potential customers via video, capture photos and videos of events, or you need refreshed headshots for you and your team, I am ready to collaborate to solve your photo and video needs.

Stay tuned as I have some exciting announcements to make in the coming days and weeks. I am registering an official business name, releasing my logo, launching my website and, I will be posting my work along the way.
