Yes, It really is fundamentally a two stage process. Both are personal, decisive moments for the photographer, but I think the second stage has more of an opportunity through editing to become open to collaborative involvement in a fascinating way if one is interested in welcoming it. I'm often surprised when I show people all of my photos taken, including those I eliminated from selection. People often ask me, "Why didn't you choose this one instead?" It really is a subjective medium.

Our community's cherished The Benton House. Constructed in 1873, it housed the former president of Butler University, Allen R Benton. It served as the springboard for the establishment of The Irvington Historic Landmarks Foundation for the purpose of overseeing the home's restoration and future preservation.

Today, it serves as a symbolic landmark and hub for Irvington, hosting and participating in local events like the Irvington Garden Tour and annual Benton House Used Book Sale, which just happens to start today, and will continue throughout the weekend!

These are from the annual Irvington Garden Tour that takes place every year right in my neighborhood. Members of the Irvington Garden Club are selected every year to open their gardens for this event. There are so many passionate gardeners who really put a great amount of love and care into beautifying their piece of land. It's a lot of fun to speak with the participants and attendees about the plants and flowers displayed. And a great chance to capture some colorful photos.
