Bunnies, hedgehogs and bears, oh my! There's nothing quite like those first few weeks with a newborn baby (or animal, I imagine!). I don't have parenting advice, and people don't really seek it from me either, but if you'd like my humble opinion, a sense of humor makes everything go down easier. I adore photos like this one where I feel like the personality of the parents is really captured right along with their joy and excitement at having this precious bundle in their arms.

I am in full vacation mode over here. I have the week off before I start a new job (!) and I'm focusing on refreshing and refocusing. That means drinking kale smoothies and eating a lot of , which I hope balance one another out 🙏🏼It also means taking time to go through my own photos so I can order real prints of my family, which hasn't happened since LF was born, or shortly thereafter 😱🙈In the meantime, here's another favorite from a recent newborn session here in Hyattsville. I asked the couple to look into one another's eyes and it reached a level of weirdness that they fully embraced. 🤗🙊😂👍🏼

Ever get that feeling like, 'where did this [insert person/place/thing] come from?' Happens to me all the time. Today I have that feeling about my own child, husband and the day of Wednesday. 😱It's going to be hard to not post this entire session - I have so many favorites! After a four-day weekend of kicking my feet up, it's time to get back to work! How are you feeling this Monday-like Tuesday? Ready to take on the world? I want to bottle up the precious time I got to spend with my family and friends over these past few days and just drink it up. Here's a sweet newborn foot shot from a session I did on Friday. Happy hump day! 🐫 🐫! I had a double header photo shoots two weeks ago and am wrapping up edits now! Isn't this newborn session light delicious? This little angel baby 👼🏻slept practically the whole time and was yet another reminder of why I love taking photos for people - capturing family moments like this that they'll be able to look back on, catch their breath and remember how her little head fit in her dad's hand. Hopefully it'll help make the memories of sleepless nights and dirty clothes and wailing cries seem a little less painful 😂😍🤷🏼‍♀️🤗😜😇

Happy Monday, y'all! When Lauren asked me to come out and capture her Pure Barre Pentagon City studio's grand opening a couple weeks ago, I was excited to get to see a real class in action. I don't know about you, but I feel fitter just looking at this photo!
