Oak & Vine began in 2024 as a small creative corner of the internet - a place where I shared art, photography, pressed florals, spiritual reflections, poetry, and the things that inspired me. Long before that, I had various blogging outlets dating back to 2013, all rooted in my passion for writing and the arts. Many of you followed along back then and encouraged me to keep creating. I've never forgotten that support!

Over time, I've felt gently pulled toward something deeper - preserving florals not just as art, but as heirlooms. Pieces rooted in faith, memory, celebration, and meaning. That calling has now grown into Oak & Vine Studio as it is today: a place where wedding bouquets, memorial florals, and meaningful blooms are pressed and framed into timeless keepsakes. 💐

The name Oak & Vine comes from two scriptures that have shaped my life and creative journey - the vine from John 15:5 that reminds me to stay connected to God, and the oaks of righteousness from Isaiah 61:3 that symbolize strength, beauty, and restoration. It also carries a personal touch: "Oak" is my initials spelled backwards, a little God-wink that confirmed this calling. 🥹

I am beyond excited for the opportunity to use the gifts I was given to serve others. If you're a bride along the Gulf Coast or have florals from a special moment you'd like to preserve, I'd be honored to create something beautiful and evergreen for you.

In today’s world, protecting children’s privacy has become more important than ever.

Out of an abundance of caution, I have made the decision to remove all photographs of babies and children from the MagdaLen’s Photography website & social media pages. This is not in response to any specific incident, only a proactive step to protect the children & families who have trusted me with their most precious memories. Your private galleries and photographs will remain available according to my normal gallery-retention policies. This change only applies to images displayed publicly for marketing and portfolio purposes. I am incredibly proud of the beautiful moments I have captured over the years, and I’m endlessly grateful to every parent who has allowed me to share them. However, as technology and the online world continue to change, I believe the safety and privacy of every child must come before showcasing my work.

Please allow me some time for this cleanup. & Moving forward, I will continue photographing children and families with the same love and care, but those memories will belong where they matter most, with you and you only 🤍

Dozens of puppies went up, up, and away to their new homes thanks to a program at the Mobile SPCA. The flght was dedicated to former Mobile SPCA Executive Director, Janine Woods.
