Read any good books lately? Maybe it's the more laid back pace, but summer is when I spend so much time curled up with a good novel.

I just finished "The North Woods" by Daniel Mason. It told the stories of multiple generations of people all living and dying within the same few acres over the course of hundreds of years. Each person's story wove into the next one as the reader learns of their individual dreams, fears, and where life actually takes them. I'm still contemplating it, especially as a photographer who uses photography as a tool to intentionally freeze time.

I'd love to hear what your all time favorite reads are. Just warn me if the ending is really sad.😜

These first birthday photos were taken a year ago now.

Recently, I had the privilege of photographing this little one and her loving family for yet another birthday.

Now two, she's gone from crawling to running, babbling to conversations, Big Bird to Peppa.

How much change a year can make. How precious each stage of childhood is. I'm so glad we got to document this one so well for her and her parents. 💛

The sticky fingers, the morning routines, the way they reach for you without thinking—these are the moments that quietly become everything.

Sometimes I can’t believe I get to do this for a living.

You may have noticed a theme of documentary photos with teens recently.

That's because this stage of life absolutely needs to be documented as much as the baby and kiddo stages! As a parent of teens myself, I know how hard it can be to win over them to the idea of photos. But as with so much with this age, if you meet them where they're at, their joy comes alive and they leave saying, "That was actually really fun."

This 1 Hour Tag Along Session was literally us tagging along to these teens favorite thing--hiking the park trails. Look at their happy and engaged faces as they get to be fully themselves. That's priceless for a parent. 💚

You have the photos and the memories of a joyful hour spent with your babies. Because, you know, we are always going to see them as our babies, right?🥹
