Humans of Houston... This project is driven by a deep rooted passion to tell stories about humanity thru portraiture. Sometimes we are so busy being entrenched in our own mind trapped world, we do not see the beauty around us. Inspired by Brandon Stanton who started a blog called Humans Of New York an American Photographer and blogger who was a bond trader from my hometown of Chicago to a number
one bestselling Non-Fiction book on the New York Time list in 2013. With his books remaining on the NYT list for 26 weeks again reaching the number one position in December of 2014. ith his amazing photos and interviews he was able to share a part of the real people of New York. HONY became and still is a phenomenon with over 17 million likes on Facebook and as of January of 2016 over 4.5 million followers on Instagram. With this inspiration in mind I started Humans Of Houston. My mission was to tell stories about Houston, one photograph at a time. Since this page was started, it has grown in direction based on learning more about Houston, it's vision and its wonderful growth. We want to not only bring awareness to its beauty, but also awareness to its people and needs. I am very excited to share this journey with you and encourage feedback and participation whether it’s in comments or you too have pictures and stories to share.
