there is no shot list for the once in a lifetime moments that flitter by. Part of what makes an artist tried and true in their craft is their dialed in ability to notice and anticipate what might unfold.
When we narrow life down to a shot list we place the humanity of a wedding into a box—unknowingly missing what may have been all because we “got everything on the list”
No day is the same, just as no couple is alike. What was captured at one wedding can’t always be replicated at another. Nor should it be.
Shot list exist for “reception scapes” perhaps, but we can’t use them as recipe cards for couples who will never be the same.
