AJ Photography My name is Alex and I am a Houston based photographer. I am currently attending the Art Institute of Houston fro my BA in fine arts.

I was born in a small town with not an abundance of things to do without coming in to Houston or surrounding bigger cities. So as a child ,I always turned to forms of art to bring my imagination to life, my parents are both creative in so many different ways and I picked up on that from a very young age. So all through my school years drawing and painting of all kinds, kept me busy and out of tr

ouble, But photography was always something that really intrigued me in ways nothing else did; for me art is a feeling an expression that can easily transport you anywhere. Through the use of colors, lines, movement and form you can be taken to a place of peace at any moment. When I look at my surroundings, I see things that most people in their day to day life just pass by them without a second glance and see what they could be. When I create an image and I know right away that without any doubt that it’s the one, I can’t help but feel like I have just slayed a dragon. My work explores the relationship between youthfulness and creativity; with the influence of older and new styles. I do not merely want to capture the image but rather I want to give that moment in time a chance to live on forever. To me the best images are the ones that leave you questioning and wanting more, the ones that speak to your soul. Photography is the only language that can be understood anywhere in the world.
