Interesting insight on the downfall of MUCC, or Michigan United Conservationist Clubs, which has been around more than 90 years and is a staple of representation of the outdoors in my home state. The magazine they publish is the first one that ever published my writing all the way back to high school (Michigan Out-of-Doors) and, having lived in Texas the last 13 years, I've still been a MUCC member and have subscribed to their magazine. I was shocked to learn of their dissolution and can only but surmise the many contributing factors (declining number of youth in the outdoors, politics, etc.). MUCC was an organization that was designed to bring together the voices of sportsmen and women across the state to share one voice and positively impact the management of our natural resources. To say it's a sad day in Michigan is an understatement.
