Hi I'm Shelley, and I'm a "natural light" photographer, which means I use natural light and shoot on location in Northwest Houston, TX (Spring, Klein, Cypress, Tomball or The Woodlands). I am willing to meet you in downtown Houston for an urban look and can negotiate traveling farther...let's chat! My scripture reference in Matthew 5:16 is the inspiration for the name "Natural Light" and has a dou

ble meaning. It means that I use natural light and want my "photo peeps" to feel comfortable, to be "natural". It also means that I desire to be transparent in my faith and "shine" a light on God's creation, His love, and His majesty through my photography. It is my hope that others will see God through my lens and through me. I am unofficially a "not for profit" photographer which means I mostly use the money I raise to fund mission trips and other causes I believe in. Currently I give to Love146 and Redeemed Ministries, both anti-human trafficking organizations. I'm also saving up and hoping to return on a 2nd mission trip to France in the near future, and some money will support my college student at Sam Houston State University (go Bearkats!). I have experience shooting for senior portraits, families, dogs, and more. Check out examples of my photography here on my page and let me know what type of photo shoot interests you. I also will create a scrapbook from your photos, and/or edit, organize, teach and support you in your photo projects. I take pride in being an economical choice for those that can not afford a "fancy" photographer, or perhaps would like to support my efforts to make a difference in the world. A one hour photo shoot is $100, which also includes the time for processing and editing, and you keep ALL the photos, so it's really quite a deal. Hi local Houston friends, I haven't marketed myself as a photographer in several years so just throwing out this reminder that I am available for all your holiday family and friends photography needs, as well as graduating seniors, or family reunions and engagement events.

I invite you to check out all my pictures here on my photography page to see my portfolio and examples of my work. I'm a "natural light" photographer and an economical choice because I shoot on location outside with natural light for a greatly reduced price. I have many great ideas for locations in the Houston area but open to considering your vision that would meet your needs. Let's talk and create a plan you are excited about!

When I do promote my photography, my calendar usually gets very full since I only shoot on weekends near sunset. So message me ASAP to grab your preferred date.

Pricing can depend on your request but in general my rate is $100 an hour shoot, which includes editing after, and you keep a digital copy of all the best pics. There is an additional charge for me to travel more than 30 min from my home on the northside.

It was so busy this last semester between teaching, grad school, and internship I just realized I never shared the photo shoot from the beautiful Brown family. It was an honor to capture this family together on Easter weekend!

What a privilege it was to capture this senior beauty! I've known Emily since she was itty bitty and look at her now! I almost cried after her photo shoot because she was such an amazing subject and THIS is the stuff that memories are made of. What an honor to be a small part in celebrating her achievements!

I've taken lots of senior pictures and family photo shoots over the years but my favorites have to be my own three kiddos.

Senior moms and dads have lots of "lasts". The fall is filled with them and it just snowballs through the spring, but remember this...

As you prepare your heart to release them into the world, it is keeping your eyes on what is ahead and CELEBRATING rather than looking back to what is behind that will launch them successfully into the next stage of life. It is rewarding to embrace the new challenges and new rewards that await them as they become adults and prepare for independence.

Of course, it is hard to let them go and you will continue to guide, support and love them. Some want less guidance or support than others and that is hard too, but they can't stop you from loving and praying for them! Lean on God and other senior parents...you are not alone.
