Lil Peep ticket from his show in Houston, November 12, 2017. He played one show two days later in El Paso, which would be his last. He died in Tucson, AZ on November 15, 2017. Today is 8 year anniversary of his passing. His management team had ties to the Texas hardcore and punk scene, which is how got us on the list.

October 2009. Blair’s house. This was one of those nights I spent dillydallying around without any particular place to go. I still wasn’t old enough to go to bars. I ran into a friend who said, “I heard there’s a party at Blair’s, if you want to come.” This might have been the night I first met her. More texts were blasted and the house was filling up. People started spilling out down the spiral staircase and onto the porch. Sometime near the end of the night, I let someone take my moped for a spin and I started running to the afterparty at Sophie’s on foot. JB loaded one or two bikes in his truck and they all headed there. A yellow cab saw me running and asked me if I was in trouble. I told him no, I was just headed to a party. He told me to hop in and I said I didn’t have any money. He said the ride was free since we were headed in the same direction. He dropped me off at the afterparty where Grant and Sophie were making frozen pizza and toaster strudels in the kitchen while everyone else was drifting off in the living room. Rent for a 1-bedroom apartment was $500.
