I really can’t wrap my mind around the fact we turned the calendars over to June today! Full on adulting is suddenly realizing what day it is (because you already forgot what day yesterday was) & continually saying, “Where has the time gone?!”

I took this photo last summer & it was chosen for this month’s sunflower calendar page!

As more and more people choose to live in the country it's common for people to ask "What do I do when I see a tractor on the road?" First and foremost, coming or going please slow down!

What are we doing since it’s too wet & muddy to plant? Fixing tile holes, picking up rocks, burning stalks, cleaning up trees along the edges of fields that fell during the many storms we’ve had. Field clean up is a tedious but necessary task!

The Co-Op is spreading fertilizer & getting ready for burn-down. The seed dealers are busy delivering seed! It’s busy season even when we haven’t officially started putting seeds in the ground yet!

Fixing tile holes - the digging part is fun & living those real life dreams from the little diggers at playgrounds when we were kids. (Do they still have those?) The shoveling down & replacing old & broken tile - not so much! Ha!

Agricultural Safety Awareness Program (ASAP) week runs March 2-6. Each day this week we are highlighting steps you can take to stay safe and healthy on the farm.

Let’s kick off the week by addressing heat safety. Working outdoors can be exhausting and dangerous if precautions aren’t taken. Stay hydrated, use sunscreen and take breaks to protect yourself from overheating.
