Ivan and I headed to Hobie Island Beach Park for an early morning shoot. It was quite windy that day so we didn't get any skyline reflections, but we did get clouds that day and they were beautiful as they were rushing across the sky.

The 2026 Milky Way season is coming to an end and I was hoping for one more shoot. So last weekend when I headed to the Glades for sunset my plan was to stay out there until nightfall, but then the clouds rolled in and then it even started to rain.

Thinking the night's over I was about to head home but had to make a pit stop at the Ernest Coe Visitor Center. When I came back out, and I wasn't there that long, the stars were sparkling overhead. So back I went for one shot before the galactic core set for the night and the season. Until next year...

Gosh, it's dark and grey out here today. To brighten the day, here are a few more shots from my early morning shoot in Miami Beach last week. The sky and colors were gorgeous.

For the sunrise shot I decided "to get rid" of the container ship that was doing "its best" to block the view of the rising sun (see my previous post from that day). Looking at it closely though, it appears there were some clouds at the horizon as well. So the view may actually not have been too different.

Sunday evening I headed back to my happy place in the Everglades for another sunset shoot or that was the plan. The weather forecast was a bit strange with one moment showing rain at 7:00 pm, checking a little while later it showed it's going to be clear. So what is it?!

Heading south I saw huge storm clouds to the west, but left them all behind by the time I got to Florida City and started to head west and into the park. At my lake it was sunny until 15 minutes before sunset when the clouds decided to move south and soon blocked the sun.

It however did make a very brief cameo appearance through the treeline before vanishing for the night. I stayed a little while longer before packing up.

It was a breezy, golden morning at Dania Beach Pier after the early morning rain. 🌊🌅

Sunday evening I headed back to my happy place in the Everglades for another sunset shoot or that was the plan. The weather forecast was a bit strange with one moment showing rain at 7:00 pm, checking a little while later it showed it's going to be clear. So what is it?!

At the lake it was then sunny until 15 minutes before sunset when the clouds decided to move south and then blocked the sun.

It did then stay until the start of the blue hour before packing up.

This was the sky that greeted me Sunday morning at Dania Beach Pier shortly after the rain moved off. I wish the clouds would have stayed around, but they decided to follow the rain and within half an hour they were mostly gone, only the clouds at the horizon stuck around.

Sometimes not being able to sleep in, even on the weekend or a day off, pays off. 😎

I was up at my usual time this morning, made coffee and then checked the weather. It looked clear at all my recent go-to places except for Miami Beach.

So even though it was my day off I joined the commuters to head to the beach and I am sure glad I did. Sunrise was a beauty this morning, despite the container ship far out at sea trying to spoil it. What is it with that ship that it always sits out there right where the sun comes up? 😅🚢🌞
