For the past 10 years, my dad, has quietly stood on the corner of Wendover and Lanada on Memorial Day with a sign that read, “It’s Not Free.” Not for recognition. Not for applause. But to honor the 1.4 million Americans who gave their lives for our freedom.

What started as one quiet act of remembrance has touched millions across the country and become a reminder that Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a day of remembrance, gratitude, sacrifice, and honor.

This year marked his final year standing. For a decade, he faithfully showed up to remind people that freedom has a cost and that those who paid the ultimate sacrifice should never be forgotten. What a legacy of honor, humility, and unwavering respect for our fallen heroes.

Today we remember them. We honor them. And to every Gold Star family carrying the weight of loss today, we stand with you.

Seven years ago today, on May 5th, I photographed my very first wedding… and it still holds such a special place in my heart. 🤍

If you had asked me back then, I would have told you I would never shoot weddings. It felt too big, too important, too much pressure. But God had a different plan, and it came through the persistence of a sweet friend who just wouldn’t take no for an answer.

Because of her ( yes that is you Karen Brendle), I said yes.

And that one “yes” changed everything.

That day opened the door to something I didn’t even know I would love so deeply. The emotions, the moments, the stories… getting to capture one of the most meaningful days in someone’s life is something I will never take for granted.

Looking back now, I’m so thankful I stepped outside of my comfort zone. It led me here, to all the incredible couples, beautiful weddings, and memories I’ve had the honor of capturing over the past 7 years.

To every bride and groom who has trusted me… thank you. And to my sweet friend Karen, who kept asking, thank you for seeing something in me before I saw it in myself. ❤ Happy Anniversary Savannah & Ethan! I still can't believe it has been 7 years.

With rain in the forecast for today, I couldn’t help but think back to this beautiful moment… ☔️✨

It rained on Zacoriia and Zachary's wedding day, but not even the clouds could take away from how absolutely stunning she was. There’s just something so magical about a love story in the rain, the soft light and of course… the umbrella shots (which I will forever love 😍).

Rain didn’t ruin the day...it made it unforgettable.

To all my future brides, if your wedding day brings rain, don’t stress. I promise you, we will still create timeless, beautiful images that you’ll treasure forever. Some of the most romantic moments happen when things don’t go exactly as planned. ❤️

I’ve known this kid since he was just 9 months old, and tonight he is celebrating his Senior Night at High Point Christian Academy. But this moment is about so much more than baseball… it’s about everything it took to get here.

It feels like just yesterday you were building Legos with the kids, and now you’re off to college. Time has a way of moving too fast, but watching the young man you’ve become has been something special. However, I will always see you as that little boy with your signature red hair and sweet freckles. You are just a bit taller now...lol!

Harrison, it has been such a gift to watch your journey on and off the field. The hard work, the character, and the way you’ve carried yourself through adversity and injury with strength and humility… that says everything about who you are.

You may never fully realize it, but Andrew has looked up to you every step of the way. He’s watched you, learned from you, and admired the way you show up and that kind of impact means more than you know.

Senior Night only happens once… but the story you’re writing is just getting started.

So proud of you, We love you #20. ❤️⚾️

From the beautifully styled setup to the cutest sweetest treats, you could feel the love and excitement from the entire family. Moments like this are just so special to witness and capture.

And then came the big reveal… 🎀

Baby Lira is a GIRL!

And making it even more fun… it was the tie breaker… Team Girl takes the win! 💕 The joy, the reactions...especially big brothers 🤣.

I just love getting to watch this sweet family grow and be part of these milestones along the way. Baby Lira, you are already so loved. 🤍

Weddings are beautiful… but then there are the ones that completely steal your heart. ❤

Katie and Sam are one of those couples.

From the very first moment, you can feel it… their kindness, their joy, the way they love not just each other but everyone around them. They are the kind of people you want to be around, the kind that make this job so much more than just taking pictures.

Sam, who owns his own farm (how fittingly named Green Eggs and Sam 🐓🥚🐥🐴), married his beautiful bride Katie right there on their land. There is something so incredibly special about a wedding that happens in a place that already holds so much meaning… and this one was just that...intentional, heartfelt, and full of love.

Katie was absolutely radiant. The way Sam looks at her says everything you need to know. These two are genuine, joyful, and so deeply rooted in what truly matters....Jesus!!!

It was an honor to capture their day, their people, and all the little in-between moments that made it uniquely theirs.

Katie and Sam… thank you for letting me be part of something so special. You two are the real deal, and I will be cheering you on always. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this chapter in your story. 🤍 Love yall so much!

There’s just something special about watching your kid give it everything they’ve got out there on that field. 💗⚾️

I have to brag!!! This boy right here… I couldn’t be more proud to be his mom. It’s not just about the plays he makes, but the heart behind every single one of them. The hustle, the determination, the way he runs full speed and stretches for every ball like it matters....because to him, it does.

He shows up, works hard, listens, learns, and keeps pushing himself to be better every single game. No shortcuts, no quitting… just pure effort and love for the game.

That kind of drive? You can’t teach it. It's a fire that burns deep within. And I’m so proud to watch it grow in you. Keep chasing it, buddy. I’ll always be your biggest fan. ❤️⚾️ #21
