Janet Cruz Photography I am known for capturing beauty in everyday locations, my work can be seen through out the Rochester area and up and down the East Coast.

When not creating art I spend my time capturing Family and Senior Portraits as well as High School Sporting events. Working with digital photography, artist and storyteller, I have been able to contribute my take on themes regarding “The beauty in the world around you”, through my on-going work. Most known for capturing beautiful everyday locations, my work occupies a number of spaces including St

John’s Home, various Health Care Facilities in the Rochester area, DePaul’s Apartments buildings, as well as various offices and private homes throughout the East Coast. When not creating art, I spend my time preserving memories through Family and Senior Portraits as well as capturing the emotions and action at High School Sporting events. I've had photographs published in Good Housekeeping, Senior Inspire and Senior Year Magazines. Sometimes the timing is just perfect. 🤍

It looked like rain was coming, but we took a chance—and what a beautiful evening it turned out to be! The skies held off, the light was gorgeous, and a location that is usually crawling with photographers was practically ours all to ourselves!

And Adriana? An absolute joy to photograph. Beautiful, sweet, and so much fun to work with. 💕

It was HOT. The guys brought the energy. And they looked READY.
Saturday was the final preseason game for the RH Varsity Football team, and I’m already counting down to the real thing.

A few more days of practice, preparation, and then…

Today Jay and I spent the day exploring Green Lakes State Park… sometimes you don't have to travel far to feel like you've discovered another world.
I knew Green Lakes was beautiful, but seeing that water in person was something else entirely. The color is almost impossible to believe. 💚💙
And there's a pretty amazing story behind it.
Green Lake and Round Lake were formed about 15,000 years ago as the glaciers of the last Ice Age retreated. They are rare meromictic lakes, meaning their upper and lower waters don't completely mix. Their unusual depth, chemistry and microscopic life create that incredible blue-green color that makes the lakes look almost tropical.
So yes… these photographs really are showing the color we saw. No filter needed. 😉
We spent the day walking, exploring, taking pictures and just enjoying being outside together. Sometimes the best adventures are right here in New York.

Some sessions are extra special, and this one definitely was. ❤️
I’ve known this family since before Ashton was even born. I still remember the day he arrived, and now somehow… he’s a SENIOR in high school! How does that happen?! 😭
Ashton is a two-sport athlete, and these images capture a little of his serious side. We had such a fun morning reconnecting with him and his parents and creating some great senior portraits.
And let me tell you… keeping up with this kid was quite the workout for me! 😂
So much fun watching him grow up—and even better getting to photograph them Senior Year!

Part two of Lily’s session is ALL about the action! And this girl is truly a Royal Comet! 💛🖤
We hit the track for some hurdle action, moved over to the soccer field for some fun shots. It all shows just how much energy and personality this girl brings. ⚽️🏃‍♀️
There are so many favorites in this set—it was hard to choose! Lily, you definitely made me work, but I had SO much fun capturing you! 📸✨

💕 We started Lily's session bright and early at the Sunken Gardens, and then headed over to the high school for some track and soccer photos.

And let me tell you… this girl made me WORK! 😂 But I wouldn't have it any other way. We had so much fun, and she absolutely rocked her session!

I worked with Ursula for many, many years, and she is truly one of the brightest and most competent people I have ever known. She made my life easier, better, and a whole lot more enjoyable.
And Emile…he is just one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet—and he is REALLY enthusiastic about pictures! 📸😊
I absolutely love these two and their beautiful family. I’m so grateful that life brought them into mine.

One of my favorite Rochester skyline images has officially taken on a whole new life—as a mural inside DePaul’s True North building.

That beautiful ROC skyline, that gorgeous blue sky, and seeing one of my photographs transformed into something this impressive… well, it makes this photographer pretty happy. 📸💙

I love creating images that make people stop and look. And this one? It’s hard to miss!

Thank you DePaul, for giving one of my favorite ROC images such a BIG place to live. ❤️
