Long Overdue Update!
I've had quite a few people reach out to ask if I am still doing photography. Short Answer- After a much needed break, I am back and ready to capture all of your moments, big and small!
Why did I take such a long break? Grief.
In August we found out we were expecting and we were so excited to welcome a sweet baby girl to our tribe.
On November 20th, we went in for our 20 week anatomy scan excited to see how much our sweet girl had grown, only to have the tech leave the room to grab the doctor 5 mins into our ultrasound. In that moment I felt my heart shatter, as the doctor walked in the room it felt almost like a fever dream as she muttered the shortest yet most gut wrenching line I have ever heard.... "There are no heart tones".
On November 21st, I gave birth to the smallest most precious little baby I had ever seen, Millie Kay. π©·πΌπ» We spent the next few days doing things that I feel a parent should never have to do, like picking out an urn, writing an obituary, and breaking the news to our older two kids that their baby sister wouldn't be coming home in the way we had all imagined and had started preparing for.
So, I decided it was in my best interest to take the last few months to grieve properly instead of rushing to find anything that would keep me distracted, because sometimes we have to sit with our grief in order to process it.
I take pride in capturing beautiful moments for my clients, and for awhile I didn't feel like I could mentally give you all my best self, but now more than ever, I feel that God has led me back to my purpose, which is capturing precious memories for you all to look back on for years to come, because one day, all we will have left of our loved ones are memories, and sometimes we are lucky enough to have those memories frozen in time!
With that said, I'm back and can't wait to connect with more clients and catch up with past clients, embark on new projects, and capture those priceless moments with you. Let's create some beautiful portraits together, that you can look back on for years to come!
