Life lessons from a kitten.
Last week while driving into town early in the morning, I came across 3 kittens in the road. This wasn't any road, but in the middle of a forest, 1.5 lanes, gravel, with my house which was at least 2 miles away being the closest.

I stopped and saw 2 run off ahead in the dark. One stopped and after a few attempts he let me get closer and closer until finally he came to me. I've never owned a cat but couldn't let babies be out. There is no explanation other than they were dumped.

I never saw the other 2 again as they ran up the mountain hill. I took this one home, fed it, took it to the vet to get checked. He was about 2 months old. With the exception of an ear infection he was healthy and got his first shots.

By coincidence, my sister call and when I told her about the kitten, who I lovingly called Theo, she said she'd take him in a few days. I fell in love with this wonderful kitten and was a bit sad to see him go but knew he was going to a great home. The bonus being I'd get to see him again!

So to the lesson. This kitten was reluctant, but came to me for help. He showed his appreciation by gently pawing at my face. By seeking and accepting help, he is thriving and very happy. I am independent to a fault some times. I learned it's okay to seek help and the outcome can be wonderful.

Alittle fun with the 360 camera today. We just got a load of fish delivered last week and they seem pretty happy. Of course this one gets to eat the little ones!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! It was a scorcher for so many people including me, but how could I miss the parade on this 250th anniversary? It was a large and spirited crowd. Happy Birthday America!

So proud of my oldest grandson who competed in the Pennsylvania AAU Tae Kwon Do tournament last weekend. This was his first year competing and he has come a long way. In fact, he got a silver medal in sparring!
