I don’t think I’ve ever done one of those “meet the photographer” kinds of posts. Here we go.
I’m Garret. I’m a dad, a musician, a chess enthusiast, an Oreo addict, and a wedding photographer. With over 13 years and hundreds of weddings under my belt, I’ve realized there’s one thing every couple wants on their wedding day - to have fun. Luckily, fun is at the heart of what I do. I’m not here to build my portfolio, I’m not here to try to go viral (I hate nothing more than having to be on social media in the first place), I’m here to make sure you enjoy your wedding day and to help make things as easy as possible.
People often ask what my “style” is. The truth is, I don’t know. I want your photos to feel like the moments they represent. The way I achieve that visually is ever-evolving, but realness and depth are always the end goals. I’m just as comfortable with bright, vivid, full-sun wedding party photos as I am with moody, dramatic, low-light portraits of a couple.
I love what I do, and that is thanks, in whole, to the people I’ve had the privilege of working with. Old friends, complete strangers, complete strangers that now feel like old friends. This career has taken me all over the country (and to a couple others): Maine, California, Florida, Arizona, New Hampshire, Italy, Iceland. Of course, I regularly get to work in my own beautiful state of New Jersey and nearby New York and Pennsylvania, which are all gems in their own right. Wedding photography has quite literally shaped me into the person I am today, and I’m better for it.
I guess I don’t really know what the point of this whole thing is other than to have something pinned to my profile that tells people a little about me, so this feels like a good place to wrap things up. If you’ve made it this far, I applaud you. I tend to ramble about things I’m passionate about.
