A little more to the story... You can see time pass as the light changes in the room.

It may seem a bit strange at first, to have such an intimate experience documented. I thought back on the birth of my own girls, and while I remember the big moments vividly, the small moments faded from my memory.

I rember Lizi, between contractions, asking if the chili need more salt. How Brian's concerned face looked as he waited patiently with a nausea bucket next to her. The midwives instinct kicking in when birth was imminent...

This is why I'm a photographer.

On Christmas Eve, I was in a room filled with such strength and love that it will stay with me forever.

One of the last photos I took that night was of the silhouettes of the newly extended family, shadowed over their wedding welcome sign that I photographed a few years back.

Life is a beautiful thing that moves fast. Luckily, we can pause it once in a while.
