I often get asked about my business name and where it stems from.. so I’m going to go into depth. Literally 🥹

So buckle up..

The name carries far more than branding — it carries a story, a memory, and a testimony.

“Saved by Gray” is not just a photography business name. It is a living memorial to my brother and a reflection of how his life, and his loss in May 2022, reshaped the way I see the world, people, and moments forever.

“Gray” represents him but it also represents the space between black and white. The in-between. The place where grief, love, faith, memories, and healing all exist at the same time.

After losing my brother, life was no longer just bright or dark. It became gray.

And in that gray season, something changed in me.

I began to see moments differently

I noticed how quickly time passes.
I felt how fragile memories are.
I understood how important it is to hold onto people while I can.
I realized photographs are often the only tangible thing we have left when someone is gone.

I wasn’t just taking pictures anymore.

I am preserving proof that someone was here. That they were/are loved. That they mattered and will continue to

That is where “Saved” comes in.

I save moments now with a deeper purpose.
I save smiles that families will one day hold onto.
I save the way a child looks at their mother.
I save wedding days that will become heirlooms.
I save the ordinary days that will someday be priceless.

Because i know firsthand what it feels like to wish you had just one more photo.

My brother’s passing didn’t just break my heart — it changed my mission.

He unknowingly gave my photography a meaning most photographers never have.

I don’t photograph people because it’s pretty.
I photograph people because one day, these photos may be all someone has left.

“Saved by Gray” is also faith-filled.

It speaks to how God met me in the gray season — not in perfect clarity, not in total darkness, but in the middle of grief. Although it took a while I was saved emotionally, spiritually, and purposefully through the hardest time of my life. My business name becomes a testimony that even in sorrow, something meaningful can be born.

Every session I shoot is, in a way, a quiet tribute to my baby brother:

Because his life taught me why this work truly matters.

When clients book me , they may not know the story at first but they feel it in my work.

That depth comes from loss.
That purpose comes from love.
That heart comes from him.

Saved by Gray means:

Saved memories
Saved moments
Saved legacies
Saved through grief
Saved by love
Saved by faith
Saved because of Gray (literally)

My brother’s name didn’t become a business name.

It became the reason behind my life’s work.

And through every image I attempt to create, a part of him continues to live on , not just in my heart, but in the homes, albums, and walls of the families I photograph.

That is why I named My photography business Saved by Gray.🤍
