From Clemson to California! I’m incredibly grateful to have documented this milestone for Tapp and Ashleigh and even more thrilled that I’ll get to continue photographing their story at their wedding in California next summer! If their engagement session is any indication, it’s going to be a celebration full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Here’s a little more about what happened that day…

Tapp had chosen the Rotunda in President’s Park for a reason that immediately tugged at my heart. It was the same place they had walked through on their very first date. According to Clemson tradition, couples who walk through there hand in hand are destined for marriage. He wanted to bring their story full circle, returning to that exact spot to ask Ashleigh to spend forever with him. There’s something incredibly powerful about revisiting the beginning of a love story while stepping into its next chapter, and I felt honored to be part of it.

When the day finally arrived, everything unfolded exactly as planned, and of course she said yes! We spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around campus, and they filled me in on all the updates that have been made. It was fun to see Clemson through fresh eyes while also reminiscing about my own memories of the campus!

Working with Tapp and Ashleigh was such a joy. Their connection is effortless, and their excitement for the future is contagious. I know their wedding day will be one for the books! 🩷

All week the forecast had been calling for rain, but we remained hopeful for at least a window of time outdoors. As Kennedy slipped into her dress, though, the skies opened up and the downpour began. Instead of panicking, everyone stayed calm. One of the wonderful things about Tin Roof Farms is its expansive outdoor porch, which gave us plenty of room to keep wedding party portraits covered and dry. We had a plan, but still, I knew how important bride and groom portraits were to Kennedy and Sully. Having ALL of the photos in one spot was not ideal.

They had decided early on not to have a First Look on their wedding day. But with the radar showing no signs of clearing after the ceremony, we talked it over and made the decision to pivot. Kennedy and Sully chose to see each other before the chapel ceremony, so we could take advantage of a brief pause in the rain. It’s never easy to change your plans on the wedding day, but they put their trust in the process. I think we all agreed that it couldn’t have worked out more beautifully. We captured so many portraits they had dreamed of, full of joy and love, and then later, after the ceremony, the skies held off just long enough for us to sneak in even more ā€œjust marriedā€ photos.

I loved every moment of working with this beautiful couple. They embraced the unexpected with such grace, and because of that, their photos truly reflect the happiness of their day. Sometimes the best wedding memories come from rolling with the changes, and Kennedy and Sully’s day was a perfect reminder of that!

As someone who loves colorful florals, I was especially excited for this wedding. Addie’s sweet mama is not only her biggest cheerleader but also happens to be an incredibly talented florist. I had high expectations, and she blew every single one out of the water. The flowers were a dream: bright, cheerful, and overflowing with texture and color. From the ceremony arch to the lush reception tables, everything was designed to reflect Addie and Daniel’s vibrant personalities and Southern charm.

My favorite part of the day, though, was their first look. When Daniel turned around and saw Addie for the first time, his reaction was so genuine and emotional. He immediately started speaking from the heart, calling Addie his best friend and saying how lucky he felt to be marrying her. It was such a powerful, tender moment, and such a privilege to witness.

Visually, the day was stunning, but the emotional depth and joy made it truly memorable. I’m so grateful to have been a part of this beautiful celebration for this amazing couple. 🩷
