After a lot of soul-searching, I have come to realize that I no longer have the time or energy to devote to freelance photography. Over the last decade+ I have been blessed to do something I love, while helping my clients capture moments and memories along the way. It has been an honor and a privaledge.

But the time has come to retire my camera and spend more time with my family, my "grown up job," and explore other interests in this season of my life. If I have already agreed to take your photos in the future, I will honor that. If I promised to call you in the spring, I will honor that. If I am still working on sessions from this year, you will still get your photos. My website will remain live, allowing clients to download and order photos throughout the end of 2022.

But from now on, I will no longer be scheduling photo sessions for clients new and old.

Thanks for the memories.

I've been fairly frantic selling real estate lately (seriously, it's been crazy!), but I was lucky enough to get to take one of my favorite people in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD around to some beautiful local spots to take engagement photos. Now, I know I'm biased, (see above) but this whole session turned out downright magical, and it was an absolute honor to be the one standing there, pointing the camera and saying "cuddle in!" Can't wait for the wedding photos, M!

Congrats to all the Seniors/graduates of the Year That Shall Not be Named (aka 2020). In all seriousness, we "grown-ups" (not sure I have earned that title yet) are in awe of the way you have handled this entire situation. You, as a generation, are resourceful, hopeful, and scrappy. I am proud to know each and every one of these lovely grads, and look forward to seeing how they change our world one day.

I started doing the photo a day challenge because I was in a creative funk of epic proportions. And it pulled me out of the doldrums and back to a place where I remembered why I love photography so much. While the ability to be creative may be infinite, my time and energy are not. And this challenge is starting to feel more like a burden and less like a freeing, joyful invitation to create. So I'm going to take a break from it for a while to give me more time to devote to my family, friends, and clients. Love you all. Go enjoy something beautiful in person, not in pixels.
