My Name is Tori. I'm a certified photographer with 13+ years of experience doing portrait, wedding and nature photography. I love being able to capture a moment in time and preserve memories. I grew up mostly in South Carolina but recently moved to east Tennessee where I've been inspired to start up my photography business again with a renewed aesthetic and passion for this artform. I love to travel to new places and hiking is one of my favorite hobbies.

When my friend Anna McKinney Smith asked me to help with some marketing photos for her yoga classes I of course couldn’t pass it up to work with her again. I still obsess over the shoot we did last fall after she completed the PCT⛰️ And now these! 😍 Not only did our wonderful friend group come through as yoga classes models for us, but Anna killed it and these turned out so good🩶. She had a vision and we just ran with it and this shoot turned out perfectly! 📷

Some recent macro and landscape photographs I’ve done this month 📷

These things are very common to most people, like wildflowers, storm clouds, bugs and even staring up at the moon at sunset. But turning them into a piece of art to show a different perspective is what I enjoy. Not everyone gets to see or experience how the sun makes wet hay glisten. Or how grand storm clouds look from a distance when you the sunset is reflecting off them. The vastness of moon craters. Or the details of small tiny flowers or mushrooms. I bet most of you didn’t even know that’s what a particular species of cricket looks like up close. Finding the beauty in nature is extraordinary and I’m really enjoying capturing it 📷 Prints available by email request.

Some recent photos I’ve taken around the property this past week. Practicing more landscapes and up close details. One day I’ll have stunning National Geographic worthy photos. But for now I’ll post these as a reminder to myself one day that practice and consistency is the only way to reach your goals. And that becoming good at something will not happen overnight. Going from portrait photography to nature photography is definitely a learning curve but I’m having a lot of fun being more in tuned with nature and my surroundings while doing it. As my husband likes to say, “nature is neat”, and I intend to capture its neatness one photo at a time 😉

Sometimes hiking on a gloomy day can be amazing. I feel like more bugs and animals are out and about, the moss and flowers just soaked up some rain and the waterfalls are flowing 😍
