The use of photography is a means of self-expression and self-awareness. Photography provides me insight into my character, and helps me understand myself as a person. Through photography I interpret the world around me. My goal is to capture life through the lens of my camera, to show an unexplored world, a place of curiosity, a world of new beginnings and old stories. My choice to capture comes
from the stories that unfold around me, seeking the unknown and looking for the light within the shadows. Capturing photographs of people in their natural world helps to satisfy my curiosity; of what lies behind their eyes, where they have been and where they hope to go. My photography shows the passages of time. The creation of life through the viewfinder is real to me. Photography inspires my self-expression through the contrast of light and dark, using the changing light of day to illuminate what hides in the dark shadows. Black and white photography shows a story, a stoppage of time. As a photographer, finding myself in a story shows through my lens by recording the reactions of the world around me, bringing the stories to life.
