Sometimes I’m the last one to leave the infield after a race.
I take the last photo. Drivers leave Victory Lane. Safely trucks exit. I’m still there putting away my gear.
I see a different track at night. It’s peaceful. Quiet. Bugs & frogs making their noises. The flag was still. It was a little chilly. My mind was still racing, but the battles on the track were done for the day. The crowd isn’t cheering. It’s different at night. It’s soothing.
I sat for a few minutes to take it in. I’m thankful for the perspective and the opportunity to work with some of the best people in the business @ Hartford Speedway. They are family to me.
