A Little Photography Life Update 📸
Over the past year, my photography journey has taken a pretty significant turn—and honestly, I think it’s been a turn for the better.
I’ve found myself spending a lot more time photographing the things I genuinely love and have found a love for: sports, dance recitals, school dances, graduations, family sessions, engagements, anniversaries, and all the wonderfully chaotic events that come with living in a community that asks, "Can you?" And I have.
And yes, I have photographed weddings in the past. In fact, I’ve had several couples reach out to me over the past few weeks about wedding photography. A few have even asked about drone photography (sadly, I do not own a drone…), and a couple has asked about video—which I also do not do.
The truth is, I’m at a bit of a crossroads in both my career and life. I’ve reached a point where I want to spend more of my time doing the kind of photography that truly makes me excited to pick up my camera.
While I absolutely enjoy photographing weddings, they simply aren’t my norm anymore and require me to take time off from my day job to edit in a timely manner. So, beginning in 2027, I will no longer be accepting wedding bookings.
Instead, I’ll be focusing my time and energy on the work I love most:
📸 Senior portraits
📸 Family sessions
📸 Sports and school events
📸 Dance and performances
📸 Engagements & anniversaries
📸 Community events
📸 And whatever other photographic adventures come my way
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has trusted me to capture their important moments over the years. Saying “no” to weddings isn’t about stepping away from photography—it’s actually about leaning further into the photography I want to be doing.
For those looking for a wedding photographer, I’ll be happy to refer inquiries to some fantastic photographers in the region who specialize in weddings and can give your day the attention it deserves. If those photographers need a 2nd camera, I will gladly shoot and give the SD care to that talent.
Thank you for understanding, supporting my business, and continuing to let me chase people, animals, athletes, graduates, dancers, and occasionally completely unpredictable lighting and the Milky Way or the northern lights with a camera. ❤️📸
Here’s to doing more of what we love.
